Dana Farber Cancer Institute, a world-renowned cancer treatment and research center in Boston,  frequently taps Kortenhaus to plan their big fundraising events. When the institute's philanthropists wanted to celebrate the success of its $1 billion Mission Possible Capital Campaign to build Yawkey Center for Cancer Care in 2011, they turned to Kortenhaus to design the messaging, strategy, branding, and logistics planning for an event that would engage six-figure donors.

Over the past two years, Kortenhaus has helmed the planning for the annual spring event, RISE, for the Friends of Dana Farber, an all-volunteer fund-raising group. On one evening in May 2016, Kortenhaus joined Mayor Walsh, Governor Baker, and major philanthropists to celebrate leadership and 40 years of the Friends, where they raised more than $420,000 to fund innovative cancer research.
