In 2011, Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) hired Kortenhaus to craft a communications plan that would establish the college as an art and design education leader.

Kortenhaus took an integrated approach to the commission. We leveraged our relationships with Boston’s cultural, civic, and media leaders to generate buzz for campus expansion projects; gallery exhibitions and lectures; community initiatives; and student–centric events. We generated media support for fundraising events, including the annual MassArt Auction, which raised more than $1 million in 2015 for the school. In addition, we offered the college's leadership and educators as experts in their field to the media, available to speak about art, business, and higher education.

During major leadership changes, MassArt asked Kortenhaus to serve on its crisis management team. We made ourselves available 24/7 for internal and external messaging during these transitional periods.

The college then sought Kortenhaus's expertise in positioning its new president within Boston's cultural and academic communities. We created and oversaw the inaugural program which celebrated MassArt's students, faculty, and history, garnering 1.5 billion impressions in business, arts, design, education media.

In 2015, Kortenhaus implemented the search for the college's 12th president, and carefully managed internal and external messaging during the change of administration.

In 2011, Lynne was appointed to the college's Corporate Advisory Council; she now serves as a valuable thought-leader for the college, its president, and senior staff.
